N. Trey Pettlon, III

Trial Attorney - Personal Injury, Wrongful death and Criminal Defense

Trey is a trial attorney who has been doing jury trials since 1990, beginning with an internship in the Shawnee County District Attorneys Office, and then as an Assistant District Attorney in Johnson County, Kansas and since 1994 as a criminal defense and personal injury plaintiff's attorney.  Trey's office is located in Olathe, Kansas but both Trey and his associate, Ryan Ginie, appear in courts in both Kansas and Missouri on a weekly basis.

Since starting his own law office in March of 1994, Trey has tried numerous cases involving serious criminal charges, significant injury and wrongful death.  Trey has won a lot of "Not Guilty" jury verdicts in criminal cases over the years including 'not guilty' verdicts for clients charged with rape, sodomy, aggravated battery, domestic battery, sexual battery, attempted murder, felony DUI and felony theft.  In personal injury trials, Trey has won numerous Plaintiff's verdicts for his clients. In 1997, Trey won the largest jury verdict of the year for a "Wrongful Death" case in Clay County Circuit Court.  In Jackson County in 2007, Trey won a verdict of $965,000 in a case defended by two top-notch trial attorneys with extremely impressive records working for one of the premier defense firms in Kansas City.  Trey is admitted to practice in Missouri, Kansas and the United States District Courts for Missouri and Kansas.

Ryan S. Ginie

Trial Attorney - Personal Injury, Wrongful death and Criminal Defense

Like Trey, Ryan gained experience prosecuting before he decided to commit to the defense of the person charged.  Prior to joining the firm, Ryan worked as an intern with the Law Office of N. Trey Pettlon and then as an intern for the Johnson County District Attorneys Office.  Ryan does primarily criminal defense and has a great deal of experience defending adults and juveniles.  Ryan does monthly lectures on juvenile law.  He is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Kansas Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  Ryan is admitted to practice law in Missouri and Kansas.

Ryan recently won a jury trial with a verdict of "Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Defect" for a man charged with a Felony for Criminal Threat.  According to knowledgeable court observers, it was the first jury verdict of its kind in Johnson County, Kansas in many years.
